Marshall Littlejohn was born on July 9, 1907 in Spartansburg, South Carolina. His parents were Date and Hattie Littlejohn. At the age of twelve, he had a dream that hound dogs were on his trail calling him to the Ministry. Following this experience, he was encouraged to pursue a vocation as a Gospel preacher and begin his ministry at a young age.

In 1924 he began his formative years as a ministerial candidate and was licensed to preach in the South Carolina Conference of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. In the early 1940s Rev. Littlejohn became the under Shepard for the CME congregation in Richmond, Virginia. In 1946 he was reassigned to the Mount Olivet CME Church in Buffalo, New York. Several years later Mount Olivet became known as Jubilee Temple CME Church. The Church thrived under Rev. Littlejohn's leadership.

Canisius College awarded Rev. Littlejohn a Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree along with many other accolades. He also studied at Fisk University in the Institute for Race and Religion. He was very active politically and in the 1960s he ran for Mayor of Buffalo. He also founded an independent congregation known as the Good Shepard Evangelistic Church. Rev. Littlejohn's greatest legacy was his love of God, his love of family, and his love for his many friends.

Rev. Littlejohn was 93 years old at the time of his death. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, New York.
