David Earl Cooper

Mr. Cooper was an amateur boxer who won the 1944 Courier Express Golden Gloves Middleweight Division Championship. Mr. Cooper was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He came to Buffalo as a child and attended the Buffalo Public Schools. He served in the US Army in 1946 and during the Korean War. He was recognized for his boxing career in the Buffalo City Hall Boxing Museum.
Mr. Cooper was 73 years of age at the time of his death on February 4, 1999. He is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
