Clarissa Elizabeth Douglas was born April 26, 1962 in Tampa, Florida. Her grandparents, Edgar & Susan Douglas, raised her on the east side of Niagara Falls. Clarissa is a 1980 graduate of Niagara Catholic High School. In 1985, she received her B.A. of Life Sciences (Biology) from Niagara University. In 1986, she earned her Teaching Certificate and she received her M.S in Foundations in Teaching in 1987.


Clarissa is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Niagara Falls Chapter of the Links, Inc. She has been employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education since 1986. During this time, she has been a substitute teacher, pupil service assistant and she is currently a Biology Teacher.


In her spare time, Clarissa enjoying bowling, shopping, and traveling. She particularly enjoyed traveling to France, Hawaii and Jamaica.


Clarissa is the proud mother of two sons, Douglas and Jared Moore. She is also the Godmother of Marquis Siner.


As a child, Clarissa always had a love for science. She loves working with children and helping them reach their goals. She is a firm believer that it is not simply what you teach, but it is all about the way you make them feel. It is a great moment when your former students come back and say thank you.
