Annie Pearl McSpadden is a graduate of Lillian Dora and the Buffalo School of Beauty Culture. She has been a licensed, practicing cosmetologist for over forty years.
As proprietor and operator of the Feminess Beauty Salon, she employs two cosmetologists. She also is a partner of LaBoutique. She is an instructor for BOCES on-the-job training programs. In order to continue her professional development, Annie Pearl participates in numerous educational and cosmetology seminars throughout the year including those in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Jamaica's Hilton Head, South Carolina. Her achievements in the field of cosmetology have been recognized by community organizations through receipt of several awards for hair-cutting, years of service, and diversity of salon services.
She attended Medaille College and pursued a degree in Business Administration.
Her civic affiliations include the Frontier Chapter of the American Business Woman Association, Buffalo Chamber of Congress, and Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Her community service activities include modeling for cancer awareness shows, volunteering as a panelist on television cancer awareness programming, and providing support for women diagnosed with breast cancer through the Life After Breast Cancer committee. She is a yearly sponsor of children at the YMCA. In addition, she is a member of St. John Baptist Church where she has served on the Adult Usher Board and volunteered for the Good Shepard Society and Sunday School.
She is an avid sports enthusiast having participated in and won awards for golfing tournaments. Her other activities include swimming, reading, and watching football, basketball, and golf events on television. Her hobbies include collecting clowns, calligraphy, and finding good in everyone she meets.
Annie Pearl is the wife of Melvin McSpadden; mother of Roshelle L. Lewis (Essentino, Sr.); and grandmother of Essentino, Jr., John D., and Melissa Lewis. She also is a great-grandmother.
