Vanessa Scott

Elder Vanessa Scott is a native of Niagara Falls and a Mother of four sons. Vanessa accepted the Lord into her life December 13, 1981 at the New Jerusalem Revival Center after hearing the message of Bishop Sammie Rankin, "Don't Miss God!" Soon she became a faithful member of New Jerusalem Revival Center under the direction and loving leadership of the Pastor, Bishop Euriah Colvin.

On January 4, 1994 she was delivered from her job and became devoted to the noonday prayer. It was during prayer that God placed in her heart a burden for the hurt and broken, battered, abused, unloved, unwanted, forgotten, pushed to the side and walked over woman. Vanessa accepted the call to ministry in March of 1997 and preached her first sermon, "Looking for Love In all the Wrong Places".

In April of 1999 she stepped out and believed God for "God's Woman Vanessa Scott Outreach Ministries, Inc." a Ministry for Women. The mission is to equip women for community living, to heal the broken hearted and to bring sight to the spiritually blind, deliverance to the captive through the Word of God. In August 1999 she became a licensed Evangelist and became ordained Elder, July 21, 2002.

Elder Scott has also attended various Bible Schools and Prophetic Studies (Refuge Temple Pastor Gordon Sweat, the Potter House-Co-Pastor Celestine Booze). She is now an active member of the Disciples of Christ (Pastor Gregory and Dr. Angela McClinton). In March of 2014 Vanessa blessed with the procession of Associate Pastor of Disciples of Christ Ministries.

Elder Scott is very active in our Community and God has blessed her to be a blessing. She has worked on the Weed and Seed, COPC and Weed and Seed Steering Committee. These originations are to better our community and make it a safer place to live. Vanessa is also a member of CoC "Continuum of Care" for the homeless. In January of 2009 she became a member of the ABWA "American Business Women Association" and the DePaul Task.

Vanessa Scott is a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She attended the Cheryl Felt's School of Business and NCCC majoring in Business Administration.

Vanessa enjoys fellowshipping with her family and friends, she loves music and at times she will sing.

In 2009 she was Awarded "Women of Distinction" selected by Senator Antoine Thompson and she was also selected "Woman of Influence" by Business First for the category of Inspiration. March 7, 2014 Church Women United, Inc. presented Vanessa with its Human Rights Award; she has also received the Good Neighbor Award, the 2012 Lion of Judah Award sponsored by Dominion Life Christian Center. On May 2, 2015 the Buffalo Club awarded Vanessa with the Sojourner Truth Award and on September 20, 2015 she received the Health & Human Services Award from the YWCA of Niagara Frontier 2015 Award. June 2017 she was awarded the Humanitarian award from the LaSalle Educational Club Inc. February 16, 2018 Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center awarded Vanessa with the 2018 Black History Celebration Service Award.

December 6, 2012 with help from the members of God's Woman Ministry Vanessa started the Naomi-Ruth Project a mentorship program. This program is for young ladies ages of 5 to 21. In March of 2014 she added the Debutante Program to the Naomi-Ruth Project.

Vanessa desires to be a blessing to all that she comes in contact with. Whether it's a smile, a prayer, a warm hand shake or a loving God Bless You!

Her favorite Bible scripture is Roman 28:8; And we know that all things work together for good to those that love God, that are call according to His Purpose.
