Pashion Payton Corbitt is a native of Buffalo, and a graduate of the former East High School. She received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Pharmacy at Northeastern University (Boston, Massachusetts), and completed some courses in the Masters of Business Administration Program from The State University of New York at Buffalo. She holds licensure in the states of New York and Massachusetts, and has been a pharmacist in local facilities for the past three decades. She has maintained her current pharmacy position at the Daughters of Charity Hospital (Sisters Hospital) for several years providing in-service education to medical and technical staff, monitoring patient medication profiles, filling prescriptions, and is a liaison to the neonatal department at the hospital. She formerly served as a pharmacist at NCS Healthcare (Eckerd Drugs) where she processed and filled medication and medical supply orders for nursing homes, correctional facilities, group homes, and convent accounts.

She is a scientist, mentor, administrator and community leader. As Director of Pharmacy for Sheehan Hospital, she developed a Policy and Procedure manual, created a formulary and revised the exchange cart system used in the Unit Dose Distribution System, revised the IV administration system and the total "parenteral nutrition" program. As the Director of Pharmacy at the Western New York Children's Psychiatric Center, she implemented the Unit Dose Drug Distribution system, prepared the Pharmacy for accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital Organizations (JCAHO) and other accrediting bodies, and maintained a Quality Assurance Program for Pharmacy Services. At Geneva General Hospital, she developed a Unit Dose Drug Distribution System, set up the IV Admixture System for antibiotic piggybacks, created and edited the Pharmacy Newsletter, and established criteria for use of Total Parenteral Nutrition.

In 2002, Pashion received The Silver Beaver Award from the National Court of Honor, Boy Scouts of America in recognition of her exceptional and noteworthy service to that organization. She is also the recipient of the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Award (Boy Scouts); the 1490 Enterprises Black Achievers in Industry A ward; and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award. She has received the Boy Scouts Greater Niagara Frontier Council District Award of Merit; the Boy Scout Woodbadge Award; and the Woman of the Year Award for the American Business Women Association.

She has spent her life being instrumental in organizing and planning fundamental programs to advance young people in the pharmacy profession. At The State University of New York at Buffalo, she has provided lectures to pre-pharmacy students regarding her experiences and year after year she was rated as the top speaker. She created a training program site (S.T.E.P.) for high school students at Sheehan Hospital and is a former member of SUNY at Buffalo's Minority Student Advisory Board. As Director of Sheehan she provided guidance and internship opportunities for both pre-pharmacy and pharmacy students. She is responsible for starting and setting up the SUNY AB Educational Opportunity Center's first Pharmacy Technician Training Program, which included women in 1995. This consisted of program structure, guidelines for certification, lesson plans, hiring and supervision of staff, and final determination of program requirements for participants' graduation.

She is past president of the American Business Women's Association (Frontier Chapter); Boy Scouts of America Committee Chairperson for Troop and Pack 84 since 1983; Greater Niagara Frontier Council Boy Scouts of America, Advisory Board member, and former Executive Board member from 1988-91; Minority Student Advisory Board member (SUNY at Buffalo), Northeastern University alumni recruiter since 1988; a member of the Western New York Society of Health - Systems Pharmacists since 1985; and one of the founding members of Project WIN (Women Issues Network). She is a member of the United Voices of St. John Baptist Church Choir; Building Committee Member and former co-chairman of Youth Fellowship and Task Force member for St. John Christian Academy. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Gamma Phi Omega Chapter.

She is constantly encouraging those who come in contact with her to pursue their dreams in the sciences. She has provided enthusiastic support to hundreds of peers, professionals, and students. She is a woman of strong character, yet has a gentle spirit that resonates compassion and sensitivity. People are attracted to her by her undeniable warmth and effervescent personality. She seeks no recognition or accolades for what she does. She is a human heart, which is evidenced, through her work and her dedication to her profession. She has made her mark in the field of Pharmacy by her goal oriented attitude, and her faith, despite the fact it is a male dominated profession. She was the first member of her nuclear family to attend and graduate from college and she continues to put "one foot in front of the other" to reach her desired goals. This is the philosophy she projects to others as well. She has been a role model not only for her son Kyle Francis Corbitt throughout his life and college endeavors; she is a role model for everyone who is blessed to know her. In her leisure time she enjoys sewing, scouting, and traveling. It is also ironic that one of her hobbies is gardening; as when God planted her as a seed in His Garden of Life, He already knew she was designated to become an American Beauty Rose. Pashion is also a role model for all women who love to wear hats. She is known for wearing the most original and most beautiful hats in all of Buffalo and is a joy to see in her beautiful "crowns" at Sunday morning church service at the St. John Baptist Church.

Pashion also shares her life and accomplishments with her husband, Anthony L. Marshall.
