Being inspired by her grandmother Maggie to take care of others, Michele Mitchell entered into the medical field during her time at Niagara Falls High School, where she completed her courses, and became certified as a nursing assistant. Within a year of working at Mount Saint Mary's Nursing Home, Michele took a position as a staff Licensed Practical Nurse upon graduating from Niagara County Community College (NCCC) Vocational Program. Although Michele enjoyed caring for the elderly, she wanted to venture into other medical venues, and continued her education at NCCC, earning an Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences, becoming a Registered Nurse.

Michele worked diligently within her profession, always looking to broader her horizons, she functioned in various arenas within the health care field, even taking a travel nurse position at John's Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore Maryland. After returning home, Michele did not want to be limited with what services she could provide within her community, she applied herself at Daemen College, graduating cum laude with both Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Nursing.

As a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, Michele continued to flourish, as she worked within Buffalo General's Cardiothoracic Intensive Care unit, followed by Hematology and Oncology Care of Niagara, and at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Primary Care Center. With a desire to deliver care within the mental health community, she played an integral role in extending the Integrated Care needs by providing primary and substance abuse care to the clientele at Niagara County Mental Health. Believing that she could impart greater compassion and knowledge into future nurse practitioners, she also works in collaboration with The University at Buffalo as a preceptor to doctoral nurse practitioner candidates. Michele also finds the time to volunteer in her daughter's class at Hyde Park School.

As a longtime member of True Deliverance Temple, Michele recognized her calling to serve, as she has worked on the Usher Board, The Healing Team, Intercessory Prayer Team, and within the Finance Committee. Here is where she learned that "prayer changes things", and she continues to utilize the power of prayer within her everyday life.

Michele resides in Niagara Fall, NY with her husband Arthur, and daughters Faith and Makayla. She enjoys hearty laughter, spending holidays with her extended family, Sudoku puzzles, and celebrating the gifts of others around her.
