Rosalie Peoples Covial
Born on 2-4-1937. She was born in Buffalo, NY. She later died on 5-18-2011.

Rosalie was the daughter of William and Oralee Peoples. She was the older of two siblings. She was a native Buffalonian.
A product of the Buffalo Public Schools, Rosalie attended school 6 and Lafayette High School. She attended Virginia State College in Petersburg, Virginia where her Uncle Irving Peoples was a professor. Rosalie continued her education at the State University College at Buffalo receiving a MA in Education, as well as Administrator's Credentials. She also attended many summer programs at Harvard University in order to enhance her administrative skills.
Rosalie was married on December 27, 1958 to Jams Covial. From this union three sons were born, James, Mark and Wayne.
Employed by the Buffalo Board of Education, Rosalie served with distinction as a teacher of children with special needs. She was promoted to Supervisor of Special Education and retired as a Director of Special Education.
A gifted musician, Rosalie began her studies at an early age. She served as an organist and pianist at many local churches including St. Paul Methodist where she attended as a child, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and ECMC Ecumenical Services. She was a long time member of Faith Baptist Church where she served as organist and pianist until her death.
Rosalie was active in the community. She served on the Board of Directors of H.O.M.E. (Housing Opportunities Made Equal) and participated in many community activities as a member of the Buffalo Chapter of the Links Incorporated. An avid reader, Rosalie was a member of the Maumbusoma (Sisters Reading) Reading Club. An excellent baker, Rosalie generously shared her creations with family and friends.
In addition to her sons, Rosalie had three grandsons, Brandon, Matthew and Nathan, her brother William and a special "sister", Alicia D. Givens.
Rosalie is interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
