Dr. Robert Lee practiced Internal medicine and was a member of numerous community organizations. He was born in Hushpuckennie, Mississippi. His family moved to St. Louis when he was two years old. He served in the Pacific theatre during World War II. After the war he graduated from Howard University with a medical degree. He then moved to Buffalo, NY with his wife Elveta to serve his residency at the VA Hospital. He opened a private practice on Jefferson Avenue which remained open until 1967. He then opened up the Ferry Medical Center on East Ferry St. where he practiced until 1990 when he retired.
Dr. Lee was a member of the NAACP, the Sierra Club, the Knights of Columbus, Upstate Medical Alliance, the Community Action organization and many others. Dr. Lee was 76 years of age at the time of his death on July 16, 1998. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Birchwood Mausoleum.
