Patricia Ann Franklin, affectionately referred to as Pat, was born May 4, 1946 to the union of Ivory Lee and Emma Jenkins in Chicago, Illinois. Patricia received her primary education in Chicago, graduating from Wendell Phillips High School in 1963 as a member of the National Honor Society. She subsequently attended Chicago State University, where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Education.

Patricia was united in marriage to Charles B. Franklin in December 1967. Two sons were born to this union, Charles B. Jr. and Carlton L. Patricia and her family relocated to the Buffalo area in 1979. Pat and Charles are the proud grandparents of two grandsons, Devin and Quintin.

Pat continued her education in Buffalo, New York where she earned her Masterââ?¬â?¢s Degree in Education from Buffalo State College. She taught third grade in the Buffalo Public School System for over 20 years. In 2003, she left the classroom to become a Reading Coach in the Reading First program. She worked in this capacity until illness forced her to take leave and subsequently retire.

Mrs. Franklin was initiated into Xi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated on May 9, 1987. She was a leader who was respected by the members for her leadership and human relations skills. Patricia served as chapter President, Vice-President, and recently as Financial Secretary. She chaired numerous committees, was a willing participant in meetings and chapter activities, and was honored as ââ?¬Å?Soror of the Yearââ?¬ in 2000. Pat and Charles opened their home to the chapter members and their families for the annual summer picnic, and they thrilled the crowd when they so eloquently danced the waltz at the chapterââ?¬â?¢s annual dinner dance.

Patricia was baptized into Christ at an early age at Greater Salem Baptist Church and later became a founding member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chicago.

Patricia Ann Franklin, wife, daughter, sister, and Woman of God departed this express of life peacefully and began her eternal new one on Monday afternoon, May 21, 2007.
