Palmer E. Kimball, Jr. was a three time commander of the Bennett-Wells American Legion Post 1780. He was a native of Sheffield, Alabama and came to Buffalo as a child. He graduated from Burgard High School and Erie Community College. He served in the Army during World War II. He was very active in the community, organizing and sponsoring neighborhood block parties. He also was a frequent visitor to the Veterans Administration hospital to visit with the hospitalized veterans.
Mr. Kimball was 66 years of age at the time of his death on October 17, 1994. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
