King Solomon Peoples
He was born in Orange Mounds, TN. He later died on 12-7-1997.

King Solomon Peoples was born in Orange Mounds, Tennessee and moved with his family to Buffalo when he was 7 years old. He was the first African American here to be promoted to the position of foreman at the Ford Motor Company. He worked for 30 years at Westinghouse and was chairman of its civil rights department. He was an outstanding athlete in basketball and baseball whereupon he was inducted into the Buffalo Softball Hall of Fame. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church and he was also a mentor to area youth.
Mr. Peoples was 85 years old at the time of his passing. He died on December 7, 1997 and is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
