Kerris Iyanna Sease is the daughter of Kerry Sease, and Valencia Howard Sease. She is 18 years old and presently a senior at Nardin Academy. There she is an active member of the Nardin Academy Orchestra, Science team, Radical Math club, and Rainbow Heritage club. Kerris has performed with the pit orchestra and was a character in the schools 2006 production of the musical ââ?¬Å?Cinderellaââ?¬. She is a member of St. Martin de Poress R.C. Church, where she serves as a youth usher, and was a youth representative for the 10th National Black Catholic Congress held in Buffalo, NY in 2007. She is also the Youth President of the Buffalo Youth and Young Adult Choral Society, in which she has been a member of for 9 years. The BYYACS is the oldest gospel community choir in the city of Buffalo. She is also an intern of the Xi Epsilon chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She and her teammates recently participated in a debate contest sponsored by the sorority and came in 1st place. As a member and employee of the Teen Skills Initiative program at the Buffalo Museum of Science she facilitates on the museum floor and runs community out reach programs at various community centers throughout the city of Buffalo. She has participated in the NAACP ACT-SO competition as well as the Regional and National Science Bowl sponsored by the US Department of Energy. For the second year in a row she has been a member of the regionalââ?¬â?¢s first place team. During the past summer, she participated in Alfred Stateââ?¬â?¢s 48 hour science challenge with other students at Nardin Academy. Currently she is a participant in the Biomedical STEP Program and the Buffalo Prep Program at the University at Buffalo. In her spare time, she enjoys playing her flute, reading, drawing, and spending time with friends. After graduating from ââ?¬Å?The Academyââ?¬, she plans on attending college and majoring in biology, physics, or mathematics.
