Felton L. Davis

Felton L. Davis is an Eagle Scout, earning the award on October 22, 1956, with Troop 41, Baton Rouge, LA. He attended Bayou Boys State during the summer of 1959 and then served on the Boys State Staff during the summers of 1960 and 1961. Felton earned a B.S., M.B.A., and J.D. degrees along with being a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Non-Resident Course.
He served twenty years in the Army with two tours in Korea and two tours in Germany. Following his Army service, Felton worked as an Internal Auditor/Audit Manager with Westinghouse in Baltimore, MD, and West Valley, NY. After Westinghouse, he worked as a substitute teacher while taking evening classes leading to NY State Public Teacher Certifications in Mathematics and Business.
While he worked in the Buffalo Public Schools, he enrolled in night school and earned NY State Permanent Certification in Educational Administration & Supervision. He now works part-time as an Adjunct Teacher/Tutor in Mathematics at a local college. The fact that Felton was an Eagle Scout and had just completed seven years on the Board of Directors of the Buffalo Urban League laid the foundation for being asked to become a District Commissioner in July 2004. That was the start of Felton returning as an active Adult Scout Volunteer.
Since that time, Felton has served in many leadership roles such as an Assistant District/Council Commissioner, and a District Membership Chair. He obtained a staff position at the 2017 National Scout Jamboree (NSJ) helping to man his Fraternity's Information Booth. In 2018, Felton capitalized on an opportunity to spend a half day touring Kandersteg, the International Scout Center in Switzerland, having learned about it at the 2017 NSJ.
He followed that by serving on the International Support Team for the 2019 World Scout Jamboree as a Commissioner for contingents from Australia, Korea, and the United Kingdom. Felton is a BSA Wood Badge Course graduate, as well as, serving on a Wood Badge staff as a Troop Guide. He is an Order of the Arrow member and has been honored with the Vigil Honor Award. Felton also serves as BSA National Service Territory 10 Finance and Fund Development Team Lead.
Felton is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. serving in leadership positions from the Chapter, Area, State, Region, and National levels. He currently serves as the Fraternity's National Chair of its Boy Scout Committee. Felton has continued actively serving his community in Leadership positions such as the Treasurer for the NAACP Buffalo Branch for four years. Currently, he is the Civic Engagement Committee Chair of the NAACP Buffalo Branch.
He has performed as a Tenor with the Orchard Park Chorale since 1993 and serves as a Eucharist Minister and an Adoration Adorer at his Church. Felton has found time to be a member of the American Legion Jesse Clipper Post 430 in Buffalo, NY, and serves as its Judge Advocate. He was recently honored by being invited to be and now is a member of the Knights of Peter Claver, Council 94, Buffalo, NY.
Felton is immensely proud of having his private pilot license. He has lived seven years in Germany, and two years in Korea and has visited all 50 States as well as the Canal Zone, Puerto Rico, Japan, Hong Kong, Wake Island, Taiwan, Kenya, Tanzania, and most of Western Europe.
Felton and his wife Helen recently celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary. They are the proud parents of daughters Tonya and Nicole.
