Dorothy White operated businesses on Buffalo's East Side with her husband. She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma and married Edward White in 1938. They moved to Buffalo in 1940. They established White's Moving Co., a furniture moving company in 1964. In 1965 they began White's Used Furniture on Jefferson Ave. In 1970 they opened White's Soul food restaurant at Jefferson and Woodlawn Streets. Mrs. White was 88 years old at the time of her death. She died on November 21, 1998 and is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
