A native of Buffalo, New York, Dorothy Butler McGuire was the daughter of Gaske and Hattie Mae Butler. She was born circa 1902. She was a graduate of Buffalo Public Schools, Fosdick Masten High School. She received her Bachelor's degree from Buffalo State College and a Certificate in Social Work from the University at Buffalo.
Mrs. McGuire was married to Dr. Myron S. McGuire. She worked as a case worker at Erie County Department of Social Welfare. She was a lifelong member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. McGuire died in 1957 at the age of 54. She is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, New York.
