Doris Davis Fields
Born on 9-13-1918. She was born in Baton Rouge, LA. She was accomplished in the area of Business. She later died on 11-6-2012.

Doris Davis Fields was born on September 13, 1918 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Joseph and Maud Davis.
She was educated in Baton Rouge, La and attended Louisiana State University. Doris was united in holy matrimony to Willie C. Fields, Sr. on December 18, 1942 and together they dedicated their lives to family and community.
In 1946, along with her husband, they built a grocery store (Fields' Food Market) at the corner of 20th Street and Center Avenue and operated the business for 25 years. Together, they also received the first retail liquor license issued to a minority in Niagara County. They operated Fields Liquor Store for more than 14 years.
Doris was also employed by the City of Niagara Falls, John Duke Senior Center for several years. She was a charter member of the Niagara Falls Chapter of LINKS, Incorporated where she served in various Board capacities.
She was the recipient of many awards and honors during her active community service endeavors.
Doris went from labor to reward on November 6, 2012, leaving four daughters; Deloris, Annie, Elizabeth and Gloria, a son Willie, Jr., and a "special" son David Carr. Also 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
