Catherine Eberhart was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. She lived in the Willert Park Projects for her first 7 years and an almost daily visit to the Willert Park Library helped her develop a love for reading. Currently, Catherine is an English Teacher at Lincoln Academy #44. A graduate, BS and MS in Education, of Buffalo State College, she has been teaching since 1972. In her early teaching career, she spent 10 years at the Diocesan Educational Campus.
Volunteering has been a way of life for Catherine. As a teenager, Catherine began volunteering for the YWCA. During her college years she became active in local human service organizations and served as Secretary/Treasurer for Ellicott Human Services Association for 25 years. Her association with Juneteenth Festival, Inc. started in the early 1980's and she is still serving as Treasurer. She is also Secretary of the Greater Buffalo Soap Box Derby. For the past 20 years, Catherine has been on the planning committee for the East High School Class of 1968 reunions.
Aside from teaching, Catherine works part-time in the business world. She has held part-time bookkeeping jobs and was a Sarah Coventry Jewelry Sales Rep. In 1980 she started a tax preparation service for small businesses and individuals. Catherine plans to continue operating this service when she retires from teaching. Since 1993, she has been studying aromatherapy and recently started a home-based business selling holistic health products. She is currently in training to be a Natural Health Consultant with a focus on aromatherapy.
