Maryetta Pugh a native of Buffalo , New York is the eldest daughter born to George and Ruth Washington. She is married to Moody Pugh, Jr. and the couple has one daughter (deceased), two sons Lamont and Lawrence, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Maryetta is a graduate of the former Fosdick Masten Vocational High School . She received her Bachelor's of Art Degree in Speech Communication from University of Buffalo at New York and has completed courses in the Counselor Education Master Program at Canisus College . Mrs. Pugh obtained certification from Cornell University in Human Resources Studies and has completed several other certificate programs.

Mrs. Pugh began her career with the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority in 1980 as a Minority Business Enterprise Specialist. At that time she was responsible for ensuring that minority and female companies participated in the construction of the Light Rail Rapid Transit system. In 1990 Mrs. Pugh was promoted to General Manager Affirmative Action / Diversity Development Programs for the Authority. In that capacity she was responsible for administering Affirmative Action / Equal Employment Opportunity for the entire Authority and its subsidiary METRO Inc. In addition Mrs. Pugh is also responsible for investigating and resolving complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment training, American with Disabilities compliance and training, and monitoring construction contracts for state and federal compliance.

Mrs. Pughââ?¬â?¢s professional memberships include the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC), Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), American Associates of Airport Executives, Buffalo Niagara Jobs Initiative, NAACP, Urban Women Political Association and the South Ellicott / Exchange Street Business Association.

A devoted Christian, Mrs. Pugh is a faithful member of Calvary C.M.E. Church where she serves on several ministries. Presently she is vice president of the Missionary Ministry, treasurer for the local Lay Council and treasurer for the District Lay council and the Pope Scholarship committee.

Mrs. Pugh has received numerous awards during the years including Women of the Year Award-ABWA, Black Achievers In Industry Award and Community Service Awards. Mrs. Pugh is a past two term President of the American Business Womenââ?¬â?¢s Association-Frontier Chapter.
