Letitia Thomas Rogers

Letitia Thomas-Rogers serves as the Director of Cora P. Maloney College (CPMC) at the University at Buffalo. CPMC houses a wealth of student support programs and offers undergraduates cultural awareness and academic enrichment. Ms. Thomas-Rogers has been at the university since 1993 having served previously as Coordinator of both the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) and Minority Academic Achievement Program (MAAP). She was employed with Life Technologies Inc. (now Invitrogen) before her appointment at UB.

Under her leadership and the mission Service to Students, A Commitment to Excellence, CPMC has continued its long tradition of providing positive links between student scholarship and service. Ms. Thomas-Rogers manages CPMC's university courses, support programs and internships that provide students with a diverse range of educational experiences. She also created and serves as an instructor for CPMC's Freshman Experience Seminar designed to assist first year students with the adjustment to the university. In addition, she has taught for the Department of Sociology at UB.

Ms. Thomas-Rogers sits on the Board of Directors for INROADS Western New York, a non-profit national organization that trains and develops talented young people of color for professional careers in business and industry. She has been recognized for her work with INROADS, receiving the "Educator of the Year" award in 1995 and 2002 from the Upstate New York affiliate. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, where she serves as Webmaster. She is a member of various professional organizations including the American Sociological Association (ASA) and American Educational Research Association (AERA).

Born in Lackawanna, New York and educated in Buffalo Public Schools, Ms. Thomas-Rogers is a graduate of City Honors High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, New York and holds Master's degrees in Educational Administration and Sociology from the University at Buffalo (UB). She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Sociology at UB. Ms. Thomas-Rogers is married and the mother of two sons, Joshua and Jordan.
