Rev. Dr. James A. Lewis III is a dynamic person who is steadfast in his quest to be more like ââ?¬Å?Jesusââ?¬. He is dedicated to the church and the community which he considers to be a responsibility of the church. Primarily, he sees the church reaching out to the community, being a part of the revitalization and most importantly by restoring hope to our people. To his members he lends the concern and guidance necessary to help lift them out of despair and into a new life with Christ.

He is currently the pastor of the Bishop Jermaine Wesley Loguen Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, where he has served since 1991. During his tenure he has implemented several programs beneficial to both the church and the community.

His community involvement is extensive and includes: president, Miracle Ministries, Inc., Boards of Directors of the Legal Aid Society, Buffalo Philharmonic, Alcohol and Drug Dependency, United Way of Western New York, Western New York Public Broadcasting Association and New Life Residential Home for Women. He is a founding board member of G.R.O.U.P. Ministries, Inc. and the founder and executive director of Vaughn House Shelter for Men. He chairs the City of Buffalo Zoning Board of Appeals and the Black Leadership Commission on AIDS. He is a certified chemical dependency counselor, a certified bereavement counselor and a C.B.R. counselor. He serves as the detoxifications and rehabilitation spiritual advisor and as the Director of Social Concerns for the African Methodist Ministersââ?¬â?¢ Alliance. He is also a life member of the NAACP.

Rev. Lewis is a man who takes his ministry seriously, being committed to true Christian Fellowship. He has a strong belief in worshipping with all that are willing to praise the Lord! He is welcomed in many faith groups and churches of various affiliations in the area, being well known as a kind, loving minister. He is known to be unafraid to go where others dare not; reaching out to those suffering from various addictions, HIV/AIDS, or simply recovering from a difficult life.

James A. Lewis III, pastor, husband to Zandra Lewis, counselor, businessman, father, grandfather, and friend, is a living testimony to what the power of God has already done. Steadfast in encouraging all to come, taste, and see what the Lord has done!
