Baiyina Abadey is President and Owner of ARTSdpc, a Washington, DC area full service management consulting firm, specializing in arts management and production, as well as social and corporate special events planning.

Established in 2000, ARTSdpc is a subsidiary of NBA Global Enterprises, LLC, and Mrs. Abadey serves as its Vice President. With over 20 years of experience in management, production, event planning and marketing, Baiyina established her firm after serving for the last 15 years at Howard University, and retired as the Deputy Director of the Center for Urban Progress. In that capacity, she managed a $1,000,000 budget and a staff of 30 employees.

Over the past 10 years, she has developed a niche and reputation as a company that specializes in working on short-term projects and joint ventures, and to date, her main clients are individual artist, groups and non-profit organizations.

ARTSdpc manages people and events from a personal intimate setting, to a major live production. Baiyina Abadey currently represents jazz musicians; vocalists; and visual artists specializing in Wearable Art designs.
As Baiyina has a passion for events planning, concert production, and performing arts management; her consulting firm takes pride in specializing in socially conscious projects that uplift humanity by contributing to the greater good.

Baiyina Abadey has worked in the area of human capital management predominately in higher education, training, personal development, and consultancy services, in New York State, the District of Columbia and Maryland.

She has completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration Management, from Southeastern University in Washington, DC; and a Master of Arts degree in Human Communication Studies with a concentration in Organizational Communications, from Howard University. Baiyina is the wife of renowned drummer Nasar Abadey, and the mother of Mia Shahidah Ayers Goss, Rashid Jon Mabry, and Kush Abadey. She has a host of grandchildren and great-grandââ?¬â?¢s and a loving extended family as well.

Baiyina Abadey is proud of being a native to Buffalo, New York. She was born LaVonne Alethia Day on August 4, 1952 to Hartley Ashton Day and Edna Ruth Richardson-Day. Baiyina is the sixth of seven children born and raised in Buffalo. Her siblings are Abdul Aleem Hassan (Hartley A. Day Jr.), Torkwase Ra Hetep (Frances A. Fagan), George A. Day Prudence A. Fuller, Virgil Nkosi Ennis Day, and Imanah King (Denice A. Day). She is sure to visit the Western New York region to spend time with family and friends, at least a few times a year.
In her early of employment Baiyina worked for Councilman Horace B. Johnson at City Hall in Buffalo, New York. Later she worked for the Community Action Organization's headquarters and various other sites; the Employment Information Center (NYS Employment Service) as a Job Counselor and Job Developer, while hosting a half-hour public service television program on Channel 29 in Grand Island, NY titled "Basic Black"; and a Psycho Therapist for the Buffalo General Hospital Community Mental Health Center. In 1976 Baiyina relocated to the Washington, DC area and worked for the Congressional Black Caucus as a Coordinating Secretary.
