Yvonne Hargrave is the Chief Academic Officer of the Buffalo Public Schools. This position is a promotion from her previous title of Associate Superintendent for Instruction for the Buffalo Public Schools.

She began her career as a French teacher at Fillmore Middle School (currently the Dr. Lydia T. Wright School of Excellence). She has held several positions in the Buffalo Schools including guidance counselor, helping teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal of Kensington High School and The Buffalo Academy of Science and mathematics.

Prior to being named Associate Superintendent, she was the Assistant Superintendent for Student Support Services.

Mrs. Hargrave is a past Vice President of the Buffalo Council of Supervisors and Administrators and past President of the Buffalo Secondary School Principals Association. She is currently a member of Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Phi Delta Kappa, the National Alliance of Black School Educators, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Western New York Educational Service Council.

She is married to Gilbert Hargrave and they have three children, Monica, Brian, and Todd.
