Earl Clifford Payne DDS

He was born in Buffalo, NY. He was accomplished in the area of Healthcare. He later died on 4-10-1972.

Dr. Payne was born in Buffalo circa 1892. He was the son of Thomas W. and Grace L. Payne and the brother of Clara L. Payne and Madeline Payne Middleton. He was the first African American graduate from the University at Buffalo School of Dentistry in approximately 1917. He was one of the founders of Omega Phi Sigma Fraternity while in Dental School. He practiced at Broadway and Michigan Streets before moving to Jamaica, Long Island. His sister Clara Payne, was Buffalo's first Black social worker. He died on April 10, 1972 and is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, NY.
